May 13, 2008 Baghdad, Iraq: On this unfortunate day, my squad was attacked and my life changed forever. Our up-armored vehicle was struck with an explosively formed projectile EFP. Killing a great friend and injuring several others. The projectile traveled at a high rate of speed through the air, smashing and tearing through the thick armor.
